These are Real Rattlesnake Rattles!

The rattle is made up of modified scales that cover the tip of the snake's tail. Th snake's rattle is composed of hollow inter-locked segments that fit loosely inside one another. These segments make the rattlesnake's "rattle" sound. Rattles are made of keratin, the same material as your fingernails!
